Saga Hot Air Balloon Museum has outlasted the version of Saga it was originally built for, and it shows.

The Saga Balloon Festival Museum documents the 45-year history of the international event and contains the most comprehensive collection of balloon memorabilia in Asia — including full-size replica envelopes, competition navigation instruments, and meteorological equipment used by competition teams. The outdoor section includes a tethered balloon flight simulator that ascends 15 meters (weather permitting, daily 10:00–15:00).

**Professional team access:** The museum maintains relationships with 8 competition teams from Japan and internationally. During the annual festival (November), visiting teams' crew areas are sometimes accessible to museum members — a chance to see the technical side of long-distance balloon navigation. **Photography workshop:** An annual balloon photography workshop (October, English available) teaches wide-angle and drone techniques for balloon events. ¥8,000 including museum entry and post-processing session.
