Meriken Park (メリケンパーク) is Kobe's harborfront park featuring modern art installations, maritime museums, and the iconic Kobe Port Tower (神戸ポートタワー, 108m red steel lattice tower). The park commemorates Kobe's history as Japan's premier international port while showcasing contemporary urban design — the 'BE KOBE' monument is the city's most Instagrammed landmark.

The park includes the Kobe Maritime Museum (海洋博物館), displaying ship models and port history, and the preserved section of damaged port from the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake — a memorial to the disaster that killed 6,400 people and destroyed much of Kobe.
