Nada Sake Brewery District is the kind of Hyogo food stop that locals recommend before any restaurant with a sign in English.

Nada (灘) is Japan's largest sake-producing region, historically known as the 'Five Villages' (灘五郷) where over 30 breweries line the coast between Kobe and Nishinomiya. The area's Miyamizu water (宮水, mineral-rich well water), Yamada Nishiki rice, and cold winters create ideal sake brewing conditions.
