Iga-Ueno Ninja Museum — Real Ninjutsu Techniques & Trick Houses

**Ninja show timing:** Live ninja demonstrations run at 10:30, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, and 15:00 (30 minutes each). The 13:00 or 14:00 shows have smallest crowds. The performers are trained martial artists (some hold ninjutsu instructor licenses) who explain historical context between combat sequences. Photography/video allowed. The show is mostly physical demonstration with minimal Japanese narration — language barrier is minimal. **Ninja house tour:** The guided tour (Japanese only, but visual demonstrations are self-explanatory) lasts 15 minutes. Guides demonstrate trap doors, revolving walls, and hidden escape routes with theatrical flair. The house is a genuine Edo-period structure relocated to the museum grounds. Children love the interactive nature; adults appreciate the authentic architecture. Non-Japanese speakers can request English pamphlets explaining each mechanism. **Costume rental:** Ninja costumes are available for children and adults (¥1,100, includes museum entry).
